FIREGLO 3615 SHORT SCALE BASS

Isaac Shalam of the UK band SILVER TWIN is a long time Rickenbacker bassist, having played 4001s, a 4003, and even a legendary 4005. Upon seeing the 3615 long-scale, he immediately realized that, with a modification of a short-scale neck for better balance, he could create an ideal combination of body size and neck length. Isaac asked us to build him a short scale 3615, and was so thrilled with the Vintage White 3615 that we built him, he ordered one in Fireglo.

This 3615 has stereo wiring. It uses the carcass from a vintage 360/12 from 1968, which has a thin top and “X” bracing, and the original two-piece figured, book matched maple back features checkerboard purfling and white binding. The pickups are Rickenbacker HB-1s, which when coupled with the short scale and .110 strings, give a pure, thunderous bottom end. The neck has 25 frets, a 30” scale, and vintage frets and crown radius. Action is low, and the truss rod is a two-way, encapsulated single rod for easy adjustment.
